Patagonias Ironclad Guarantee: what it really covers

Quick answer

The Ironclad Guarantee covers everything Patagonia makes for its lifetime: defects, and repairs of damage even from wear. It is not an unlimited replacement program: they repair first, replace when repair is impossible, and very old items get store credit. The Worn Wear repair service is the quiet star of the system.

Practical rules

  • Start with the online repair request with photos; many fixes ship free.

  • Local repair is faster in countries with Patagonia stores.

  • Keep expectations right: the guarantee rewards long ownership, not buyer remorse.

    Frequently asked questions

Does it cover items bought secondhand?

Yes, the guarantee follows the garment, not the receipt.

    How long do repairs take?

Weeks, not days; local stores are quicker for simple fixes.

    Any exclusions?

Lost items and deliberate damage; worn DWR reproofing is on you.
